Diabetic Ways to Stay Healthy

  • Monitor your blood sugar regularly (glucose monitor helps)

  • Eat a balanced diet and try to keep your carbs low

  • Add some exercise into your daily routine, even if it's a 20 minute walk

  • Keep your stress levels low (I know this is hard sometimes, but do what you can)

  • Visit your doctor/nurse/dietician/health care provider on a regular basis

  • Get your eyes checked at least yearly

  • Get a good nights sleep

  • Connect with others who have diabetes, sometimes it's nice to share experiences and stories, or helpful tips

  • Smile, be positive, and make some positive changes to stay on track
